Westerburg

Westerburg is a beautiful, Net Zero Ready single-family residence located in Revelstoke, BC.

The home was designed to resist heat transfer, and uses R38 insulation and triple pane windows, keeping the home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. This means it’s not only more comfortable, but energy costs will be reduced up to 90%.

The Westerburg is a custom build that heavily leverages modular panels, the benefit is the home was built on time and budget and to the highest quality. We absolutely love the timber framing and the second floor balcony that opens to a well treed back yard.

A Q&A with the owners of the Westerburg:

Why did you choose prefab versus custom?

We had researched green homes/net zero homes and many of these are prefab. As we looked into the prefab world, we were also realizing that the ability to complete portions of the build in a parallel also meant we could get into our home faster. Having your home built inside a clean and climate controlled facility was appealing.

Why did you choose Good Way Homes?

They were local to us in Revelstoke and the process to build the home that was outlined on the Good Way website made a lot of sense to us. We eventually met the team in person at the manufacturing facility and right away could see the high quality and the controlled fashion in which Good Way pre-fabricated their homes. We had met with other local builders but it felt like our particular build was not worth their time and the timelines we were quoted were several years out. The Good Way team made us feel like our job was important to them and the ability to build the home and setup the site in parallel also meant we got our home in less than a year. Additionally, the team was pleasant to work with and we found the culture and atmosphere to be one we wanted to work with.

Please tell us what you love about your new home.

The build quality - you see how thick the walls are and the quality of the doors and windows. We know that it's energy efficient and will be low cost and will last forever. Of course we also love the sweet upper deck and the views of Mt Begbie!

Please tell us about what stood out in the process with Good Way Homes.

The process really was followed exactly as laid out and there were very few surprises along the way. The ability to fix price the job gave us cost and timeline certainty which was appealing.

For anyone considering Good Way Homes, what would you tell them?

We would recommend Good Way to anyone who is looking to build - the build quality is high and Good Way made things right when anything was highlighted that needed to be taken care of.

On a scale of 10-0 how likely would you be to recommend Good Way Homes to a member of your family or a friend? Why did you give this score?

We would definitely recommend Good Way as a home builder to friends and family. The team built us an amazing home, with high quality throughout for a set price and timeline. As both of us are in project oriented careers, this is not something you see very often! 10 out 10!

We couldn’t agree more.
